-8:00AM In route to the Speedway from Orlando. Expect reports to begin around 10AM, pictures to follow shortly there after.
-10:35AM I finally made it to the Speedway. The cars are running in packs of five as they can practice drafting for the first time. Let the fun begin.

-12:05PM Finally a Ford
Matt Kenseth led the way in the morning session, the first that cars were allowed to draft. His speed was 188.403. Sadler in his Ford was second and Ryan Newman led the way for the Dodge camp in third.Interestingly the top running Chevy was Jeff Gordon in 10th with a speed of 187.250.

-12:48PM No Roush Guys in the Rolex 24
Kenseth confirmed during his press conference:There'll be no Roush guys in the
Rolex 24:
"Not this year. Testing was last weekend and I didn't get a
chance to do that so we won't this year. We talked about it but weren't able
to put a competitive team together."
-4:50PM The Fat Lady has sung
The track is closed, the haulers are loading up and the garage area is quickly emptying.
The first NASCAR Nextel Cup testing session has ended after an incident free drafting session.
Jeff Gordon posted the fastest speed not only of the day, but of the entire session as well clocking in at 189.298.
I spent most of the day out taking the final pictures of this session and I look forward to doing it all over next week.
