Although I jumped out of perfectly good airplanes thousands of times in my years in the military only once did I participate in something called a BASE jump. That’s a ‘sport’ where you jump from a fixed object such as a building, cliff, or in my case a very tall radio tower in Kansas.

So, the entire Junior Nation was, and may still be, up in arms after Saturday night’s race at Richmond…Dale Earnhardt, Jr. was robbed of a win! And it was Kyle Busch that took it away! True? It depends on who you ask I suppose.

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- Joey Logano made his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut and reopened 'The Rock' Sunday in stellar fashion, dominating the Carolina 500 to emerge victorious over NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader at Rockingham Speedway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Less than 48 hours after competing at Richmond International Raceway, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will hit the track again Monday and Tuesday at the 1.5-mile Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

Lost in all the late race melees in Saturday nights Richmond race was the actions NASCAR took against veteran Michael Waltrip who was parked by NASCAR on Lap 355.

7.9: Jeff Burton's average finish this season, tops in the Sprint Cup Series. Burton's lowest finish is 13th in the season-opening Daytona 500. Kyle Busch is second at 9.1. Burton's average start is 26.0; Busch's is 10.4.

1982: How's this for domination? Darrell Waltrip leads 419 of 420 laps to win the Cracker Barrel Country Store 420 at Nashville (Tenn.) Speedway. Harry Gant, who finishes 29th in the 30-car field, leads the only other lap on the .596-mile track. Gant leads Lap 116 -- just before he retires with steering problems after 119 laps.
