Font size: Small/ Larger/ Largest Sphere: Related Content Paul Menard has reached an agreement to drive for Yates Racing starting in 2009, joining drivers Travis Kvapil and David Gilliland at that organization, the team confirmed Tuesday. --(Cont'd From Front Page)-- Menard will leave Dale Earnhardt Inc. at the end of the season and will bring with him the Menards primary sponsorship controlled by his father, John Menard. "This is a great opportunity, and I'm glad to be joining the Yates Racing organization next season," Paul Menard said in a statement released Tuesday. "I think a lot of what (team principals) Doug Yates and Max Jones are doing over there are building for continued success. I'm excited to be a part of their future and excited to work with Travis and David." Yates is a Ford shop and enjoys close affiliation with Roush Fenway Racing. Menard, who is 28th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship standings in the No. 15 DEI Chevrolet, won his first pole in the series July 5 at Daytona and posted his best finish of the year (11th) at Michigan in June. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Details about Menard's car number and design will be finalized later.
