Joe Gibbs Racing driver Joey Logano continued his Sprint Cup Series education by turning test laps at Kentucky Speedway Wednesday.

--(Cont'd From Front Page)-- “I’m here today in the Cup car just trying different stuff for Joe Gibbs Racing we haven’t really tried yet,” Logano said. “We’re winging’ it to see what we’ve got and to see if we can learn a thing or two.”

The test follows Tuesday’s announcement that Logano will not complete the final three events of a previously announced five-race Sprint Cup Series stretch with Hall of Fame (HOF) Racing.

Logano will see Sprint Cup Series action in No. 02 JGR machine at Atlanta Motor Speedway Oct. 26.

“When things aren’t working right, you’ve got to make a change,” Logano said. “We couldn’t pinpoint what was going’ on. In the practice that was rained out at Richmond at least we were fast, so we’re going to back to that deal and we’ll try to go from there. I think I learned a lot in those (two Cup) races, but they were nowhere near the runs we were looking for.”

Logano will see action this weekend at Talladega. Saturday he will make his Truck Series debut behind the wheel of the No 59 Toyota Tundra the day prior he’ll make his debut at the 2.66-mile tri-oval as he races in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.
