1952: Donald Thomas wins a 100-lap event on the 1-mile dirt track of Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta to become the youngest winner in Cup history, a record that lasts until Kyle Busch wins the Auto Club 500 at California in 2005. Busch is 20 years, four months, two days old when he wins, four days younger than Thomas.
