Will he leave Joe Gibbs Racing? If so, I wonder why?
To tell you the truth, a lot of fan’s reactions are “Wow, I guess he and Kyle Busch just don’t mesh huh?” Now whether they are saying this in jest is yet to be determined, but I’m thinking that Mr. Stewart isn’t going to be run off by anybody, so that’s not a piece in this puzzle by any means.
Once I got past the “oh wow” and took a breath, I again wondered…Haas/CNC Racing? He’s thinking of going over to that company? And maybe becoming part owner? Okay, I’m confused, but as you know, I tend to stay in the mode until I have the facts and time to chew on them.
So…his current contract takes him through the end of the 2009 season, that’s a good way off. And we’re hearing about a possible early release from JGR? Jeepers, this could get darn complicated…and a little nasty, but we’ll keep a positive attitude here.
Everyone involved is saying the right things… they say they’ll all live up to their contracts. Hmmm…that’s possible. Even if they negotiate an early release they’d put it down as an addendum to the current contract or something…at any rate it would be in writing right? So yes, everyone could still say they will be honoring their contracts…yep, sure could.
Freedom to do more of what Tony likes to do? Take risks? He could go stick his feet back in the world of IRL racing while he’s still racing over here in NASCAR. He could take another stab at the Indianapolis 500, something he attempted five times, with his best finish being fifth place back in 1997. Dang, that’s a long time ago. I wonder if he remembers how to drive those machines that sound like hummingbirds. I guess as a part owner (hypothetically) Tony could pretty much dump any restrictions that he currently has relating to dabbling in other series and he could end up having the time of his life. Sounds like a good plan actually.
But now my mind is full of a million (well maybe only a hundred) questions. And sitting back and watching, listening intently and reading between the lines will give us some answers.
I do have to say one thing though…in my real life I have a job that is labeled as “confidential”, meaning if I let anything that is said in the big boss’s office slip out of my mouth to anyone, I could get in big big trouble. Just for the record, I am good keeping things to myself. That being said, wouldn’t you think the folks that work around these big racing stars would have the same kind of loyalty and respect going on? As in…whoever leaked this story needs to have their floors cleaned with their behinds if you get my drift.
I’m just saying…I know its human nature to share the dirt, but hmmm…somebody needs to check in their house for a rat. Yes, if these guys didn’t have the scruples of gossip hounds, we out here in the land of writing wouldn’t have a whole lot to ramble on about until the real story was shared…so…it is what it is I guess. Just bugs me that there’s people out there making a whole lot of money and they can’t do what I can…keep a secret. Ha! Well, we’ll keep a close eye on this and see what other words of wisdom come from “reliable” sources…keeping in mind, it’s very rare that something of this magnitude surfaces without some semblance of truth mixed in there somewhere.
